Interesting to see the prequel, and the back story. I found some of the dialog difficult to figure out who was proverb what a few times. I prefer the anime to the manga myself information technology just didn't have the same fun level. Great illustrations, like shooting fish in a barrel to read emotions.

Actual rating: three.five stars.
Okay, so commencement things first. Psycho-Laissez passer is probably one of my favourite animes of all time. Besides, I had no idea that they were creating a prequel manga.
I accept personally never read a manga before. I know...*shame* *shame* *shame*
It took a hot minute to get used to reading backwards, merely one time I did, I was super happy to get back into the world of Psycho-Laissez passer! Yet, as excited as I was to jump back into this amazing futuristic globe, I found the storyline to be a tad

It took a hot infinitesimal to get used to reading backwards, just in one case I did, I was super happy to get back into the world of Psycho-Pass! Withal, as excited equally I was to jump back into this amazing futuristic world, I plant the storyline to be a tad confusing.
Information technology took me a while to grasp what the hell was going on. Once it started to click I started to savor the story a lot more, just information technology took a while for me to get at that place.
I'grand still looking forward to picking up the second volume though, I can't turn downward more than Psycho-Pass! I'grand totally willing to requite the 2nd volume a chance and I promise information technology's a little easier to follow this time around!
...moreIf you exit the terminal s off the title whilst searching goodreads you get an interesting selection of foreign-linguistic communication novels.
Overall, though, this volume is just a slightly futuristic version of shows like Criminal Minds. Information technology'south fairly by-the-numbers for a cop show, just keep in listen that I mentioned Criminal Minds. There'due south some weird stuff they're tracking downwards. It might get into the more philosophical and (anime spoiler for almost halfway through season ane)(view spoiler)[dystopian reality (hibernate spoiler)] territory in later volumes, every bit it kind of hints at with the last chapter. I'm not sure how world-shattering any revelations volition exist in this series, especially for fans of the anime who take already seen some surprising and shocking stuff.
There are some new characters, though, in the Enforcers, and that makes me wonder what will happen to them to get them written out of the hereafter anime story. Information technology's a different section of the department than what was followed in the original anime, so peradventure aught bad will happen to them... merely this IS Psycho Pass, later all... It's a shame, as I'm already rather attached to a couple of the characters in this batch of quirky, socially inept gang.
As an extension of the Psycho-Pass universe, though, it should be interesting to see how Kogami was when he hadn't gone latent criminal yet. I'thousand only not sure how much people new to the series will get out of this prequel.
...moreThis first volume was quite interesting. Every bit usual, the police intrigue was well built, I kept wondering who was behind the stolen organs. I also very much enjoyed discovering new characters and seeing old ones such equally Ginoza, Masaoka (Love him)or even Akane (even though ju I'm a huge fan of the anime (and of the picture show) so I was very happy when my friend offered this to me. Having only two days to finish my challenge, I'm turning toward mangas because I doubt I'll have time to read anything else.
This first book was quite interesting. Every bit usual, the police intrigue was well built, I kept wondering who was behind the stolen organs. I as well very much enjoyed discovering new characters and seeing former ones such equally Ginoza, Masaoka (Love him)or fifty-fifty Akane (fifty-fifty though just a brusque cameo). But of course, what I loved most was existence able to encounter Kogami over again. More than than existence an interesting, well-fleshed grapheme, he also represents humans complexity in a club where feelings are beingness controlled to a sure extent. I actually enjoyed being able to run across him as a immature detective, before he turned into a potential criminal and became a hunting dog. ...more
But, as the crimes he invest
In a future globe where peace and order are maintained via consistent monitoring of one's psychological and emotional state (I.e their "psycho-laissez passer"), Inspector Shinya Kogami is tasked with rooting out aberrant personalities and eliminating criminal threats. With the help of a senior Inspector and a team of Enforcers (people with elevated psycho-pass scores who tin forego imprisonment or worse past working with the police force), Kogami attempts to uphold the arrangement in place. But, as the crimes he investigates begin to chisel away at the foundations of the system undergirding their reality, will Kogami be able to maintain his own psycho-pass? Or, will he go the very kind of person he hunts down for justice?
I'm excited to finally be reading this prequel manga! Psycho-pass is, perhaps, my favorite anime ever fabricated. Kogami is certainly a stand-our character for his complexity and the questions his character poses in the context of this story and world. Though I know how this all ends, I'm looking frontward to watching it unfold~
Definitely recommend Psycho-Pass!!! Especially for anyone who loves an intense psychological thriller~
...moreI liked this manga, merely had some minor bug with it.
It's interesting to see a slice of Kogami's life as an Inspector, and the art is well washed.

I feel the story moves perhaps a piffling too rapidly, merely, considering everything the manga is attempting to say and all the characters beingness introduced in a short 160 pages, I estimate that'south how it must exist. I'm talking circles here a bit. Like I said, I accept a hard fourth dimension rating near manga.
All the same, it's Psycho Pass, and it's focused on one of the best characters, and I enjoyed it. It'southward certainly no masterpiece, but perhaps the side by side installments will improve upon the foundation here, and garner a more favorable rating from me.
...moreWhat I liked most thi
I'k super biased because I dearest the "Psycho-Laissez passer" series and Shinya Kogami is my favorite grapheme from the series, but I really enjoyed this manga. I didn't know what I was expecting going into this series, only I knew that it was the prequel to the manga and anime. If you've seen or read the original series, so you know that Kogami is an Enforcer and no longer an Inspector. I'yard really hoping that this serial will give usa all the backstory advert to how he "savage from grace."What I liked nigh this series is that there are 2 female person Enforcers on the team and I'm already loving Hina Amari. Her flippant personality and lack of empathy make me like her for some reason. I suppose she kinda reminds me of myself a bit, just I think I would exist more squeamish effectually blood than Amari is.
...moreIts the future and food is Hyper-Oats and nothing real or organic. Crime is contained for the near role past monitoring people's emotional states. There is a problem with artificial kidneys that have numbers stamped on them. And fourth dimension is running out for some people.
Book #110 for the year 2020.Its the time to come and food is Hyper-Oats and nothing real or organic. Criminal offence is independent for the about part by monitoring people'due south emotional states. The Inspectors and Enforcers of the Public Safety Bureau are charged with justice and taking intendance of outbreaks. These are their files. (deplorable... couldn't help myself). There is a problem with artificial kidneys that have numbers stamped on them. And time is running out for some people.
...more thanBeautifully illustrated and fast paced with memorable characters. A overnice addition to the original anime.
Now, equally for the main plot, it revolves around a mysterious emergence of organ theft from a hospital. Kogami and his colleagues investigate the advent of a natural organ (there are constructed ones in this world likewise) with a number stamped on it. Following the clues and the path of registered surgeries, they dig to find out who has been stealing organs and where are these numbered organs coming from. The story is fast-paced and heady, and though just a modest part of the mystery is revealed, I found it to be an interesting one. I am, obviously, excited about future volumes, and now I am contemplating getting to the sequel anime pretty soon.
Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review from Dark Horse Manga, via Edelweiss.
